A mid-century round dining table in black, built with North American alder solid wood and rattan accents. The distressed finish keeps the wormholes and knife marks of the hand-worked process, and every top grains out a little differently. About one meter across, on a pedestal base — sized for small dining rooms.
Description
This is a mid-century table in the literal sense: a round top, a single pedestal, and nothing else competing for attention. The dark finish holds a small room without crowding it, and the round edge means no sharp corners to walk around.
The top is North American alder solid wood, finished with an American-style distressing process that deliberately leaves wormholes and knife marks in place. The grain is not matched or unified either, so each top carries its own pattern and its own depth of wear — that variation is part of the finish, not a flaw. Rattan detailing runs through the base area, its warmer tone sitting against the black wood as the table's most recognizable detail.
Because the top is round and the base is a single column, chairs tuck in from any side and the space underneath stays open. At roughly a meter across, it seats two to four for everyday meals, and works just as well as a reading or tea table in an open kitchen, beside a window, or in a corner of the living room.
JTMD is an OEM brand of Alexander; this piece is an original export run made for the US market. As with any solid wood furniture, expect natural variation in color and grain.

Where does your furniture come from?
We select furniture directly from partner showrooms in Foshan, alongside surplus and end-of-season opportunities from established lines. We do not hide where the value comes from: we look for pieces that can stand up to showroom presentation, buy directly, and pass the saving on.
What's the quality like?
A showroom is an unforgiving place to judge furniture: colour in daylight, joinery, upholstery, scale and finish are all visible up close. That is the standard we use when selecting: the piece has to be good enough to be presented on a showroom floor, not merely cheap enough to sell.
Is there anything I should know before ordering?
Two things we'd rather you know up front, so there are no surprises on delivery:
- Much of our inventory is surplus stock. We do not present it as anything else, but surplus is not the same as poor quality. We disclose the actual condition of each piece before sale.
- Some pieces may be showroom samples with light handling marks. We inspect every piece before shipping and send you video of the actual goods to approve.
- Some designs are quite distinctive and won't suit everyone. That's a matter of taste rather than quality. If you're unsure, ask us and we'll send you actual photos and details.
Is everything in stock? Can it ship immediately?
Yes — the vast majority is in stock and ready to ship right away. In the rare case our system is out of date and an item has sold, we tell you immediately and help you switch to another piece or get a refund.
What is the minimum order and how is freight calculated?
The minimum order value is $5,000 per shipment. Below that you can still order — we hold the goods and ship them together once your combined orders reach the minimum. We ship by the container, so mixing items cuts your freight cost significantly.
How does inspection before shipping work?
