Description
The Tyrand Alexander English desk and vanity brings two pieces of furniture into one footprint. It is designed for rooms where a writing surface and a dressing surface are both needed but space is not unlimited.
Construction starts with German beech solid wood for the frame and the legs. The top is finished in wood veneer, and the body is dressed with mahogany and flame-grain burl veneers, which give the dark brown painted surface its shifting depth.
The craft is the point of this piece. Hand-carved brass fittings outline the form, fine wood marquetry and shell inlay build the surface pattern, and genuine gold detailing picks out the edges. Bentwood shaping and cabriole legs give the desk a soft, traditional English curve instead of a hard architectural line.
The rectangular top leaves a full working area, so the desk sits comfortably in a study or home office. Moved into a bedroom, it takes on the vanity role, with room to keep everyday items within reach. The dark brown finish settles easily among other wood furniture and stands out cleanly against pale walls.

- We will not ask you to ship the furniture back — return freight on large items usually costs more than the piece itself.

Where does your furniture come from?
We select furniture directly from partner showrooms in Foshan, alongside surplus and end-of-season opportunities from established lines. We do not hide where the value comes from: we look for pieces that can stand up to showroom presentation, buy directly, and pass the saving on.
What's the quality like?
A showroom is an unforgiving place to judge furniture: colour in daylight, joinery, upholstery, scale and finish are all visible up close. That is the standard we use when selecting: the piece has to be good enough to be presented on a showroom floor, not merely cheap enough to sell.
Is there anything I should know before ordering?
Two things we'd rather you know up front, so there are no surprises on delivery:
- Much of our inventory is surplus stock. We do not present it as anything else, but surplus is not the same as poor quality. We disclose the actual condition of each piece before sale.
- Some pieces may be showroom samples with light handling marks. We inspect every piece before shipping and send you video of the actual goods to approve.
- Some designs are quite distinctive and won't suit everyone. That's a matter of taste rather than quality. If you're unsure, ask us and we'll send you actual photos and details.
Is everything in stock? Can it ship immediately?
Yes — the vast majority is in stock and ready to ship right away. In the rare case our system is out of date and an item has sold, we tell you immediately and help you switch to another piece or get a refund.
What is the minimum order and how is freight calculated?
The minimum order value is $5,000 per shipment. Below that you can still order — we hold the goods and ship them together once your combined orders reach the minimum. We ship by the container, so mixing items cuts your freight cost significantly.
