A one-table, one-chair patio set from Diaoke Wangguo, carved from solid Vietnamese ironwood — among the heaviest and most prized timbers in the world. Vietnam has banned its export and China lists it as a protected species, so this piece is out of production. Every surface is hand-carved and finished in a deep red-brown lacquer.
Description
A Chinese-style sculptural set in which both the table and the chair take the form of a crab. The carving is entirely by hand, with the shell, legs and joints worked as one continuous line, so the set reads as a piece of sculpture in the garden as much as furniture.
The timber is solid Vietnamese ironwood, no veneers. Ironwood is among the heaviest woods in the world and one of the ten most prized timber species; Vietnam has banned its export, and it is listed as a protected species in China. Roughly 1.2 tons of timber was lost in carving the set from full stock. The surface is left restrained rather than decorative, covered in multiple coats of Chiba lacquer (3 base, 2 top) in a deep red-brown.

- We will not ask you to ship the furniture back — return freight on large items usually costs more than the piece itself.

Where does your furniture come from?
We select furniture directly from partner showrooms in Foshan, alongside surplus and end-of-season opportunities from established lines. We do not hide where the value comes from: we look for pieces that can stand up to showroom presentation, buy directly, and pass the saving on.
What's the quality like?
A showroom is an unforgiving place to judge furniture: colour in daylight, joinery, upholstery, scale and finish are all visible up close. That is the standard we use when selecting: the piece has to be good enough to be presented on a showroom floor, not merely cheap enough to sell.
Is there anything I should know before ordering?
Two things we'd rather you know up front, so there are no surprises on delivery:
- Much of our inventory is surplus stock. We do not present it as anything else, but surplus is not the same as poor quality. We disclose the actual condition of each piece before sale.
- Some pieces may be showroom samples with light handling marks. We inspect every piece before shipping and send you video of the actual goods to approve.
- Some designs are quite distinctive and won't suit everyone. That's a matter of taste rather than quality. If you're unsure, ask us and we'll send you actual photos and details.
Is everything in stock? Can it ship immediately?
Yes — the vast majority is in stock and ready to ship right away. In the rare case our system is out of date and an item has sold, we tell you immediately and help you switch to another piece or get a refund.
What is the minimum order and how is freight calculated?
The minimum order value is $5,000 per shipment. Below that you can still order — we hold the goods and ship them together once your combined orders reach the minimum. We ship by the container, so mixing items cuts your freight cost significantly.
