A copper-clad ceramic oval tray combining hand-carved pure copper with high-temperature ceramic. Built with a stacked openwork firing technique and hand-finished detailing. Production yield was under 1 in 20, and the piece is now discontinued.
Description
The "Layered Shadows" copper-clad ceramic tray brings together hand-carved pure copper and high-temperature ceramic in a single piece. The copper carries a metallic sheen while the ceramic keeps a softer, warmer surface, and the two read as one object rather than a pairing of separate materials.
The tray is made with a stacked openwork ceramic firing technique, finished by hand. The layered cut-through structure casts fine, repeating shadows under light, which is where the name comes from. Because the openwork form is prone to warping and cracking during firing, the yield was under 1 in 20, and the piece has since been discontinued with no further production planned.
The vintage gold tone and oval silhouette work well on a living room coffee table, side table, or dining table for holding fruit, and the tray also stands on its own as a tabletop object. The copper-and-ceramic combination fits comfortably with modern minimalist and vintage-mixed living room styles.

- We will not ask you to ship the furniture back — return freight on large items usually costs more than the piece itself.

Frequently asked questions
Where does your furniture come from?
We select furniture directly from partner showrooms in Foshan, alongside surplus and end-of-season opportunities from established lines. We do not hide where the value comes from: we look for pieces that can stand up to showroom presentation, buy directly, and pass the saving on.
What's the quality like?
A showroom is an unforgiving place to judge furniture: colour in daylight, joinery, upholstery, scale and finish are all visible up close. That is the standard we use when selecting: the piece has to be good enough to be presented on a showroom floor, not merely cheap enough to sell.
Is there anything I should know before ordering?
Two things we'd rather you know up front, so there are no surprises on delivery:
- Much of our inventory is surplus stock. We do not present it as anything else, but surplus is not the same as poor quality. We disclose the actual condition of each piece before sale.
- Some pieces may be showroom samples with light handling marks. We inspect every piece before shipping and send you video of the actual goods to approve.
- Some designs are quite distinctive and won't suit everyone. That's a matter of taste rather than quality. If you're unsure, ask us and we'll send you actual photos and details.
Is everything in stock? Can it ship immediately?
Yes — the vast majority is in stock and ready to ship right away. In the rare case our system is out of date and an item has sold, we tell you immediately and help you switch to another piece or get a refund.
What is the minimum order and how is freight calculated?
The minimum order value is $5,000 per shipment. Below that you can still order — we hold the goods and ship them together once your combined orders reach the minimum. We ship by the container, so mixing items cuts your freight cost significantly.
How does inspection before shipping work?
