A mid-century Chandigarh bench built on a solid North American black walnut frame with a hand-woven natural rattan seat. Dark, quiet wood tones and an open weave that breathes — sized for an entryway, the end of a bed, or the side of a sofa.
Description
The Chandigarh bench comes out of the mid-century modern vocabulary: an armless, rectangular plank of a seat held by an exposed solid wood frame. There is no upholstery to hide behind — the piece carries itself on proportion and material, which is why it settles easily into warm wood, vintage, and quiet minimal rooms alike.
The frame and legs are solid North American black walnut, finished to keep the grain readable rather than glossy. The seat is hand-woven natural rattan, strands crossed into a taut surface with a little give underfoot and enough openness to stay comfortable in warm weather. With no foam or fabric anywhere, there is nothing to flatten out over time.
It is best thought of as the seat you reach for in passing: pull on shoes at the entry, drop a folded throw at the end of the bed, or park it beside the sofa as a side bench. It also works at a dining table where a long, backless bench suits the room. Natural materials vary — grain direction and weave density differ slightly from one piece to the next.

- If something arrives damaged, tell us within 14 days of delivery with photos or video, and we will refund the damaged portion.
- We will not ask you to ship the furniture back — return freight on large items usually costs more than the piece itself.
- Flaws already shown in the pre-shipment video and approved by you are not covered.

Frequently asked questions
Where does your furniture come from?
We select furniture directly from partner showrooms in Foshan, alongside surplus and end-of-season opportunities from established lines. We do not hide where the value comes from: we look for pieces that can stand up to showroom presentation, buy directly, and pass the saving on.
What's the quality like?
A showroom is an unforgiving place to judge furniture: colour in daylight, joinery, upholstery, scale and finish are all visible up close. That is the standard we use when selecting: the piece has to be good enough to be presented on a showroom floor, not merely cheap enough to sell.
Is there anything I should know before ordering?
Two things we'd rather you know up front, so there are no surprises on delivery:
- Much of our inventory is surplus stock. We do not present it as anything else, but surplus is not the same as poor quality. We disclose the actual condition of each piece before sale.
- Some pieces may be showroom samples with light handling marks. We inspect every piece before shipping and send you video of the actual goods to approve.
- Some designs are quite distinctive and won't suit everyone. That's a matter of taste rather than quality. If you're unsure, ask us and we'll send you actual photos and details.
Is everything in stock? Can it ship immediately?
Yes — the vast majority is in stock and ready to ship right away. In the rare case our system is out of date and an item has sold, we tell you immediately and help you switch to another piece or get a refund.
What is the minimum order and how is freight calculated?
The minimum order value is $5,000 per shipment. Below that you can still order — we hold the goods and ship them together once your combined orders reach the minimum. We ship by the container, so mixing items cuts your freight cost significantly.
